We organize a lot of projects during the year but SCiM is our biggest one. We can say that it has become a tradition that Student organization of University of Maribor organizes a student conference which purpose is to join students from different countries to debate about important issues of the society around us and to express their opinion through their critical point of view.

Investigative Journalism Conference

Investigative journalists from the former USSR, Eastern Europe, Balkans, Caucasus, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America are now welcome to apply for grants that will cover their travel and stay at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference 2010 at Geneva, Switzerland.

The organizers are particularly looking for journalists who are willing to show and share their experiences and work through presentations at the conference. If you are able to demonstrate how you worked with your life's best investigative story, you might pick up free tickets and stay at the conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

Generation’89 Project


Were you born in 1989? Are you a citizen of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania or the UK? Meet people from your generation! Join the “Generation ’89” project!

With the support of the “Citizenship” Programme of the European Union, the “Generation 89” project proposes to commemorate the fall of the communist systems in the European countries, through the lens of the young people born in 1989. The young people from Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Belgium, UK, Germany, Hungary, Austria and Bulgaria have had different historical context in which they lived their lives, and one of the objectives of this project is to bring together these youngsters and to offer a space where they can share experiences and expectations for the future.

EU Studies Fair 2010

On the 12th and 13th of February 2010, European Voice will organise its 11th annual EU Studies Fair in Brussels, Belgium. This two-day education fair and networking event will bring together universities, prospective students, academic institutions and business professionals. Attendance for prospective students is free of charge.

The focus of the event is career advancement for young professionals by presenting postgraduate programmes in EU Studies, International Relations, Business, Law as well as internship and career opportunities.

This year for the first time the EU Studies Fair will be preceded by a visit to the European Union institutions and seminars on "European and International Studies" and "Business and Law". It will also include a series of interactive seminars on topics such as ‘The position of Europe in a changing world’ and “What is European Studies?”.

Summer Academy in Schloss Hofen

The Centre International de Formation Europeenne (CIFE) invites to apply for the annual North American European Summer Academy in Schloss Hofen, near Bregenz, Austria, which will be held from July 26th to August 7th, 2010. The general topic of the event: Relations Between Europe And North America. 

Deadline: applications are considered as soon as received. 
Eligibility: generally graduate students, but applications from students in their second and third year university studies and young professionals shall be also considered (about 20 participants).

Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE) organizes its annual "Black Sea Summer University". This year it will be held in Varna, Bulgaria, on August 11-17, 2010.
